The Athlete Blueprint
One 60-minute field assessment that answers two questions every tennis player and parent actually cares about: how much physical capacity does this player have right now, and how likely are they to get injured?
What we measure
Five categories, each weighted 20%
Tennis punishes the weakest link. Weighting each category equally means a player can't hide a gap behind one strong quality.
Mobility
20%Hip, thoracic spine, shoulder and ankle range — the joints tennis asks the most of when reaching, loading and serving.
Strength
20%Lower-limb and trunk force production, plus shoulder and scapular control that protects the serving arm.
Power
20%How quickly force is expressed — jump height, rotational throw output and the elastic qualities behind a heavy serve.
Speed
20%First-step acceleration, lateral change of direction and recovery movement back to the middle of the court.
Coordination
20%Balance, landing control and sequencing — how well the body links the kinetic chain under fatigue.

Your results
Two clear scores — no guesswork
Every test feeds into two headline outputs so progress can be tracked over a season, not felt.
Performance Capacity Score
/100 out of 100
A single number summarising physical readiness across the five categories, with the category breakdown underneath so you can see exactly where the points were lost.
Injury Risk Score
Flags the asymmetries, mobility restrictions and control deficits most associated with tennis injuries — so they can be addressed before they cost court time.
The deliverable
The Player Pathway Report
Written in plain English. No jargon walls, no ten-page PDF nobody reads. Parents and players should finish it knowing exactly what to do next.
- Category-by-category scores with a simple visual breakdown
- Clear explanation of what each score means for tennis
- A "What can be done to help" section with prioritised actions
- Recommended next steps: S&C focus areas, timeframes and re-test date
Sample report extract
- Performance Capacity Score
- 68 / 100 — solid base, with power and speed holding the overall score back.
- Injury Risk
- Moderate — driven by limited right hip rotation and a 15% side-to-side difference in single-leg control.
- What can be done to help
- "The right hip doesn't turn as far as the left, so the lower back does extra work on the forehand. Over 8 weeks we'll open that hip up and build single-leg strength on the right side. Expect steadier landings and a stronger push out of the corner"
