About

Courtside with elite players, not just in a clinic

MK MotionLab exists because tennis players kept falling between two worlds: coaches who could see the technique but not the body, and clinicians who could treat the body but had never stood on a tournament court.

The founder

A physio who coaches. A coach who assesses.

MK MotionLab was founded by Malyaar Khan, a physiotherapist with more than 16 years playing experience and eight years coaching experience working at multiple clubs around Australia — including time working with ATP and ITF-level players. That playing and coaching background means the assessment isn't abstract lab testing: it's built around the movements that actually decide points.

Alongside clinical work, the founder has worked as a physiotherapist at UTR professional tennis tournaments. Being on the tournament floor changes how you think about load, recovery and risk — you see what happens when a player's physical capacity runs out three matches into a week.

That combination — elite coaching exposure, tournament-floor physio experience and clinical training — is the whole reason this business exists. It means a junior's results can be explained to a parent in plain English, and an adult player can finally understand why the same shoulder keeps flaring up.

MK MotionLab operates out of Hume Tennis & Community Centre in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
